Construction of this website was begun in March 2008 by Kelsey McMillan, the Official Historian of the 389th Bomb Group. Kelsey's father was a tail gunner in the 565th Squadron of the 389th. He flew 35 missions with the Lloyd L. Allen crew between July and November 1944. Kelsey, who has been researching and preserving history of the 389th Bomb Group since 2001, was elected Official 389th Historian in 2005 by the veteran members of the 389th Bomb Group Veterans Association.

As a fledgling website, there is a relatively small amount of content compared to other bomb group websites, but a bit more is added every week. Long range plans for the website are to provide an extensive amount of content on the 389th's history, missions, crews, ground personnel, the airfield and all attached units. It is going to take quite some time to completely build the website out as envisioned, but we will get there. Please check back from time to time for new content. Thanks for your patience.
