AIRCRAFT accidentS, crashes, battle damage etc.
For those interested in all things related to the 389th's B-24 Liberators and/or aircraft incidents at the Hethel, England airbase, the following is an effort to account for it all (a work in progress). This list contains details of aircraft accidents, crashes, prangs, battle damage info/repairs, and losses that involved 389th personnel, and 389th aircraft in all locations (except in hostile territory and cases where Missing Aircrew Reports were necessary), and accidents which occurred at the 389th's airbase in England that involved other than 389th personnel. If an accident occurred as a result of damage sustained in battle, an official accident report was not required. However, in some cases, preliminary reports, random official documents, and photos have been found which provide information on crashes and crash-landings resulting from battle damage. To view Adobe Acrobat PDF files of official accident reports, miscellaneous documents and photos, click on the serial numbers in the lists.
